Why so many food intolerances?

I am often asked why food intolerances are so common.  There are a number of reasons; the western diet, poor digestion or sometimes it’s hereditary.  Research is showing our modern diet can be high in sugars, animal fat, caffeine, alcohol and processed foods.  A diet which doesn’t necessarily support healthy gut bacteria but rather promotes bad gut bacteria.  It’s the good gut bacteria that keep our digestive system healthy, which sets the foundation of health for the rest of our body.

Symptoms of food intolerances can range from bloating, wind, hay fever, fatigue, sore eyes, rashes, diarrhea, nausea and brain fog. Mentally, food intolerances can affect us also with anxiety, depression, sleep disturbances and irritability. All of this just from our food! But, by being diagnosed properly and with the right treatment such as dietary changes, these symptoms can ease.

Food intolerances can be frustrating, even debilitating. Once modified a whole new lease on life can take place and the brain fog clears, making you feel amazing! If you feel you suffer from any of the symptoms above, come and see me for a detailed assessment. I’ll help modify your diet, to get you living a healthier, happier life.
